The Skidmores in Chicago

Right now Lucy has just gone and retreived her shoes from the closet and then she brings them to me in a rush of excitement indicating she wants to go outside. She will be taken outside alright by her daddy who is going to go insane if he is in the apartment a minute longer with three overexcited/high strung/screaming children. Going outside to play just isn't as easy as it was back in Salt Lake (since we live on the third floor in an old apartment building)but that is one of the very few negatives about living in Chicago. We really love it here. We are actually in Evanston which is a suburb just north of Chicago. There is so much to do and see here that I wonder if we can possibly be satisfied by the end of our short year here but we will try to make the most of our time. So far we have spent a lot of time at the many nearby parks. There seems to be a park every other block and they are all so different and way fun. Being here with three little kids will deffinately limit the things we can do but at the same time there is a ton of stuff you can do and see with kids. It is very family oriented. Speaking of family, we are really missing all of you as well as all of our good friends and neighbors. Interestingly enough it seems to have hit Beth the hardest. So far she has asked when we can go back to our green house? about five times a day. We miss you all and hope this will be a good way to keep in touch. We would love to hear from everybody. Talk to you soon.

I'm so happy you guys have a blog! But your mom insisted that when we come to Chicago we get you to put some pictures on. It sounds like you are having fun there which is great, but we miss you so much back here! Today at dinner it was just Tom, me, Hazel, Joe and your mom and dad. It's so weird! I'm sorry I haven't called or anything but I am really bad at that. I'm much better at emailing. I'm not a huge fan of talking on the phone! But I really want to know how things are going so I'm glad you have this blog now! We love you and miss you! Good luck with settling in-
